Sudarshan Chakra

Sudarshan chakra in astrology

Sudarshana Chakra (Sanskrit:, lit. "disc of auspicious vision", IAST: sudarana cakra) is a spinning discus weapon employed by the Hindu god Vishnu or Krishna. It has 108 serrated edges. The Sudarshana Chakra is usually depicted on Vishnu's right rear hand, which also holds a shankha (conch shell), a Gada (mace), and a padma (lotus).

The Chakra was Vishnu's symbol as the wheel of time in the Rigveda, and by the late period, the Sudarshana Chakra had emerged as an ayudhapurusha (anthropomorphic form), a ferocious avatar of Vishnu used to destroy demons. The deity is known as Chakraperumal or Chakrathazhwar as an ayudhapurusha.According to mythology, Lord Krishna held the discus underneath the Govardhan mountain when it was elevated for support. Sudarshan Chakra was also employed to produce a fake sunset in order to eliminate Jayadrath. Lord Krishna, on the other hand, did not use it to slaughter anyone in the Bharatiya war (fight of Mahabharata) or any other combat.

Because the name Sudarshana together implies "auspicious vision," During Holy Yagyas, Lord Sudarshana is commonly worshipped to fend off evil energy or vibrations. The origins of this holy weapon are told in a variety of legendary myths. Sudarshana Chakra, according to tradition, was created by Vishvakarma, the god's architect. Sanjana, Viswakarma's daughter, wedded Surya, the Sun God. She couldn't go close to him because of the Sun's scorching light and heat.

Importance of sudarshan chakra in astrology

In astrology, the Sudarshana chakra is the most essential. It's the cornerstone to understanding all of astrology's dashas and progression systems. It is the foundation of Bhrigu Samhita and most Nadi astrology prediction systems.

The significance of the Sudarshan chakra is to investigate how the Sun's force passes through the Moon and manifests in the physical body. The Eternal is the outermost space, the paper on which you have drawn your chakra. The Sun receives a 'ray' from the Eternal first.

Who was killed by sudarshan chakra?

Shishupala insulted Krishna multiple times during Yudhishtir's coronation. Krishna remained silent and continued to forgive him, but after the hundredth insult, Krishna no longer felt obligated to forgive the lout. Lord Krishna killed Shishupala with his Sudarshan Chakra.

It was also used to chop Goddess Sati, Lord Shiva's consort, into 51 pieces when she gave up her life by plunging herself into a Yagna (worshipful fire rite) at his father's home. Shiva is supposed to have carried her lifeless body around in his arms and been inconsolable in his grief. The 51 pieces of the Goddess's body were subsequently scattered over Bharatvarsha and were known as "Shakti Peeths."

Sudarshan chakra powers

Lord Vishnu wields the Sudarshana Chakra, a whirling disk-like weapon. According to the Puranas, the Sudarshana Chakra is the most formidable weapon capable of annihilating even the most powerful foes. It is said to slay asuras, rakshasas, and vikrutatma, the adversaries of law, order, and conservation.

The Sudarshan Chakra is capable of annihilating whatever in its path. The Sudarshan Chakra is, in reality, the only divine weapon that is always in motion. It has the power to do millions of revolutions per second and travel millions of yojanas (1 yojana = 12 km) in the blink of an eye.
